I was on my way home when my friend asked me a favor. She asked me if I could go with her to the mall, look at stuff and just hang out. We ended up on Watson, where she was told that there were an on-going sale promo that day. What a trap, of all people to ask. Why me? By the way, this was my reaction because although I love makeups and beauty enhancements, I am not comfortable buying them.
I looked at her, she’d been very quiet all day. I asked her what’s wrong, that’s when she told me the situation in their home. And I think we can all relate to this - the feeling of being rejected by the very person you want to please, the feeling of giving your best shot but for some unfortunate reason you’re always ended up being not good enough.
She bought a lot but what shocked me the most is her plan to dye her hair. I mean, this friend of mine is the most beautiful in my circle of friends. She said she wanted some changes in herself and she frequently asks me what’s wrong with her personality.
And this is what I thought about all day.
There is no doubt that almost everyone wants some changes.
Changing hair colors, changing wardrobes, changing the way you walk, talk, and even your diet is a great idea for changes. but the real change will come from you- from your choices, your words, your actions and your thoughts. And as I have experienced in the past 18 years of my life, there is no greater change that happened to me than when every time God is shaping me.
I hope that you will learn why change and life are both at the opposite side of the coin, but one will not exist without the other. And I pray that there will be a turning point in your life that you will embrace God and let Him change you.. for the better.
